Celebrity Auction Coordinator

PETA is looking for an outgoing, experienced fundraising expert to solicit and organize opportunities with celebrities and, public figures, and corporations through online auctions. Experience organizing fundraising and celebrity-focused auctions and using platforms such as Charitybuzz or Omaze is highly valued, as is a friendly and persistent personality. If vegan living, celebrity culture, and fundraising interest you and you're ready to produce real results for animals, please apply now!   Position Objective: To cultivate relationships and fundraising opportunities with celebrities and notable people from the world of film, television, theater, the arts, sports, literature, music, social media, politics, and corporate America, as well as from the local community.   Primary Responsibilities and Duties: • Develop fundraising opportunities to benefit PETA's work • Identify and research appropriate "cases for giving" for targeted and prospective celebrities • Cultivate relationships with targeted and prospective celebrity donors and their representatives • Draft and send requests to celebrities soliciting their support • Track industry trades and other celebrity-focused publications and websites • Stay up to date on celebrity, entertainment, national, and global news • Compose and edit template letters and other correspondence • Develop and maintain strong relationships with various auction platforms • Handle all aspects of preparing and launching online auctions, including coordinating internally and cross-departmentally, and with the celebrity and the auction platform • Document pertinent information for the purpose of enhancing and developing PETA donor and celebrity profiles • Maintain and update contact lists and databases; file external correspondences and research • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor   Qualifications: • Minimum of two years of fundraising experience preferred • Minimum of two years experience working with celebrities preferred • Experience working with fundraising and auction platforms, including but not limited to CharityBuzz, Crowdrise, eBay, Omaze, and Prizeo • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns • Exceptional persuasive and explanatory written and verbal communication skills • Proven ability to maintain professional working relationships with members, supporters, and the public • Proven excellent project-management, strategic-thinking, and analytical skills • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and maintain strict confidentiality at all times • Demonstrated effective online research skills • Proven excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and follow through • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines • Proven ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional manner • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record • Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle • Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues • Commitment to the objectives of the organization

Essential duties and responsibilities Fulfilling orders and receiving inventory, unloading and checking on merchandise Prepares orders by picking products, packing boxes, and placing orders in delivery area Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards Maintains inventory by  recording amounts of materials or items received and counting of physical inventory Rotating inventory and implementing FIFO- (First In First Out) Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; Sweep, dust and mop if needed. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times Wear the proper safety equipment Physical demands and abilities Regularly required to reach with hands and arms  Regularly lift and/or move objects at least 60 lbs Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and carry Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
