Overview

We are looking for someone to lead our team of field campaigners to new heights. The Protest and Media Campaigns division works in tandem with the Communications, Social Media, and Marketing departments to draw attention to animal rights and wrongs and help end the suffering of animals for food, clothing, entertainment, and animal experiments. The director will work closely with the EVP and with the individual campaigners to plan and execute protests, stunts, colorful demonstrations, both large and small across the country. Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
•Manage the demonstrations and events division of the International Grassroots Campaigns Department and oversee all staff and projects
•Provide vision and big picture thinking to our street activism and overall campaigns
•Develop, implement, and revise strategies to increase efficacy of campaign demonstrations and events, including integration and coordination with the communications, social media, marketing, and other divisions
•Oversee the tracking and analysis of the success of all demonstration and outreach event efforts
•Ensure that standard operating procedures are updated and followed
•Ensure that the organization’s goals are being met through demonstrations and events
•Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:
•Ten years of experience in public outreach and media campaigns
•Exceptional oral communication, writing, and editing skills
•Ability to make sound judgments and work independently
•Proven excellent research and analytical skills
•Proven effective management skills
•Demonstrated ability to think critically, creatively, and strategically
•Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle
•Support for PETA’s philosophy and the ability to advocate PETA’s position on issues professionally
•Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver’s license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
•Commitment to the objectives of the organization
