Maintenance Manager Job Description

This position is full-time (approximately 40 hours/week), exempt.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager supervises a small crew of maintenance technicians, is responsible for planning and overseeing all repair and installation activities, as well as carrying out inspections of the facility to identify and resolve issues to achieve maximum efficiency of operations.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Plan, assign, direct work of maintenance technicians within assigned areas to ensure the plant is maintained in order to produce and ship products consistent with established specifications for quality and quantity.
  • Provide resources and guidance to maintenance staff as it relates to the maintenance operation (such as diagnosis and repair of production lines and systems, equipment etc).
  • Ensuring and responding quickly to equipment failures, minimizing production downtime resulting from mechanical reasons.
  • Performs and provides oversight related to preventive maintenance inspections and procedures (eg lubricating, cleaning, adjusting)
  • Performs and provides oversight ant performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain supply and repair parts inventory.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Comply with the rules and regulations set forth in Miyoko’s Kitchen’s employee handbook, safety manual and GMP guidelines.
  • Enforce and follows lockout/tag out safety procedures during service and repair. Implement such procedures if none exists.
  • Uses personal protective equipment as required.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Ability and willingness to do overtime during peak season or based on company needs.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell. Must be able to stand for periods of time, or walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be frequently able to lift or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties for this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and may be frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; inclement weather conditions, and loud noise levels in the work environment.
