About this Career Opportunity
The Physicians Committee is looking for a media relations specialist to join our team. If you are journalist or media relations professional with about five years of experience and an interest in plant-based nutrition, we want to hear from you. The media relations specialist will create plans to obtain news coverage and social media exposure for our scientific studies, books, conferences, videos, and public health campaigns. Specific duties include writing news releases, contacting reporters, creating newsworthy advertisements and working with our experts to set up media interviews.
This is a full-time position located at the Physicians Committee’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Friendship Heights on Metro’s Red Line)

We are looking for a team player who will tackle his or her work with a sense of urgency and with persistence and who is outgoing and has an excellent news sense. If you share these qualities, are passionate about the Physicians Committee's mission to advance the field of plant-based nutrition, are committed to scientific accuracy, and have five or more years of experience in media relations or journalism, we'd like to hear from you. Knowledge and experience of nutritional science is a plus.
