Job Description

Position Objective: 

To provide a wide range of high-level support to the executive vice president 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with the executive vice president on a variety of projects to further animal rights

• Conduct research on a wide range of topics

• Draft responses to inquiries from members 

• Assist with campaigns as needed including drafting letters and other projects

• Attend events and protests as needed

• Arrange events such as staff retreats, meetings, and other gatherings

• Interact professionally and diplomatically with activists, donors, corporate contacts and others

• Assist the executive vice president while she is traveling or otherwise unavailable

• Make travel arrangements as needed

• Professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues

• Perform any other duties as assigned by the president


• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience

• Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience

• Exceptional written and verbal professional communication skills

• Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns 

• Demonstrated superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail

• Proven project management skills 

• Proven effective research skills

• Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and decision-making

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems, identify opportunities, and take an active approach to responsibilities

• Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• COVID-19 full vaccination and booster recommended

• Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record

• Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle 


The hourly pay range for this position is $25.50 - $26.50 per hour. The ultimate hourly pay within this range that will be offered to a qualified candidate will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and the cost of living in the area in which the candidate will live and work.
