About the Development Team

Our Development Team supports the Physicians Committee’s mission by developing donor relationships and managing the fundraising program, which includes individual giving, annual giving, grants, special events, and legacy giving.

About This Career Opportunity

The Data Entry Coordinator will coordinate the Physicians Committee’s data entry workflow and assist with updating donor records by accurately entering key data into Raiser’s Edge. Essential functions and specific duties include:

 

  • Enter new donor information into Raiser’s Edge software.
  • Record donations in Raiser’s Edge—processing high-value gifts is a priority.
  • Update existing donor information such as name and address changes, etc., in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Process credit card batches that our mail processing company enters.
  • Note memorial/tribute gifts and gift memberships in Raiser’s Edge.
  • Complete authorization forms and apply for employer matching gifts.
  • Work with the finance team on bank deposits and wire transfers.
  • Distribute batches and other projects to data entry team members.
  • Return bad checks and declined donation charges to donors.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures for primary area of responsibility.
  • Assist development team members with special data entry projects.

This is a full-time nonexempt position that regularly requires some work to be performed at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Friendship Heights on Metro’s Red Line). Some work can be performed remotely from an alternate location in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.

The required experience for this position aligns with our Coordinator level. Coordinator salaries start at the hourly equivalent of $58,250 per year and have a midpoint of the hourly equivalent of $63,151 per year. A salary offer will take into consideration education, experience, and skills along with internal and external reference points.

We are looking for a professional with at least five years of data entry experience. Experience with using Raiser’s Edge and with working for a nonprofit organization is a plus. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, and have a keen attention to detail. They will also be able to follow instructions, work in a team environment, and take on projects independently.
