Woodstock Farm Sanctuary rescues farmed animals and gives them care and sanctuary, connects animals with people to advance veganism, and advocates for animal rights in alliance with other social justice movements. We welcome visitors to come and meet animals who are most commonly exploited, abused, and killed in animal agriculture. Our animal residents are given lifelong sanctuary and are treated with respect as individuals. By giving farmed animals the chance to live their lives with dignity and by sharing their stories, we advocate for veganism and aim to reduce suffering for all.
Job Overview
The Maintenance & Buildings Manager position is a full-time, year-round, exempt (salaried) job. The Maintenance & Buildings Manager will supervise a team of two Maintenance Technicians, and oversee the maintenance and ongoing build-out of a 137-acre property currently with more than 40 buildings (mostly barns and coops) and more than 30 trucks, cars, UTVs, tractors, skidsteers, wheel loader-backhoes, and trailers. The Maintenance & Buildings Manager will work in close coordination with other departments to support office needs, public tours and events, and primarily sheltering needs – which involves facilitating the shelter team’s efforts to provide specialized shelter and care for nearly 400 rescued farmed animals including cows, pigs, sheep, goats, and many kinds of birds. This is considered a leadership position.
The ideal candidate, along with having serious experience in facilities and equipment maintenance, will also have business-management background involving strong budgeting and planning skills. The best position fit is someone who is able to communicate well with team members from other departments to plan collaboratively around competing priorities and complex ROI factors. The ideal candidate has experience managing multiple projects and outside contractors / vendors to complete projects as cost effectively as possible.

· Full-time, onsite, salaried position with baseline work week of 36 hours and paid lunch break
· Woodstock Sanctuary promotes work-life balance and offers generous paid time off and paid holiday benefits, and can be accommodating with some scheduling flexibility when possible
· Benefits also include medical insurance, dental, vision, 401K with match, and life insurance
· Pay: $55,000 – 65,000 per year
