Job Description

Planet Bake is a CPG Startup changing the dessert industry. We develop, manufacture, and market plant-based, sugar-free, gluten-free, soy-free desserts (expanding into several product lines by 2025) that are delicious, healthy and kind to the environment. We make desserts far healthier and more lifestyle conscious without sacrificing taste, texture, and quality. We hope to play a role in helping to counteract alarming trends in diabetes rates, obesity, and other chronic health issues with healthy products.


We are looking for an experienced Ops Member to join Planet Bake's Advisory Board with the opportunity of full time employment in Q2 2023. This is a dynamic leadership role that will be performed with 5-10 hours/month, where both parties get to know each other incl. company culture, mission and vision. After Series A the board member has the opportunity to be hired as a full time employee with full salary and benefits.

• COO, Manufacturing Operations - Regulated CPG Experience a Must
• Strong track record of leadership and management as member of a senior team ideally reporting the CEO/Founder
• Minimum of 5 years' experience overseeing manufacturing operations (transportation, supply chain inventory management, global sourcing and logistics including multinational experience)
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in the food, beverage or related sector is mandatory
• Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements for import and export of goods, HACCP, and CGMP for food and dietary supplements
• Material management experience with high volume transactions and forecasting needs in order to maximize volume discounts with key partners
• Proven track record of strong negotiation and leadership skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities and evolving targets

• As COO, Manufacturing Operations, you will be a member of a high-energy, dynamic, and rapidly scaling start-up organization
• This is a hands-on results-driven position, with responsibility for supporting the development of companywide and operations specific strategic initiatives to directly support corporate growth
• Establishing operating protocols and implementing processes to facilitate accelerated routes to market, you will oversee the operations team which includes manufacturing(outsourced), logistics, sourcing and purchasing and R&D that is currently based in NJ.
• The position will operate across cross-functional departments to ensure an efficient movement of high-quality branded products, identifying, vetting, and managing our vendors, co-packers, negotiating and planning cash flow management, supply chain optimization and revenue-driven strategies
• This high-energy job requires resilience, adaptability, and flexibility; the incumbent must have the ability to think strategically, implementing new methods to achieve cost savings, evaluate value chains, and supply consolidation across the various SKUs
• Responsibilities include but are not limited to, setting, and leading your team to achieve performance key metrics; expense and revenue management; strategic execution of local and corporate initiatives; compliance with government regulations (CGMP, HACCP, FDA); identifying risks and creating mitigation strategies; and identifying, developing, and evolving external partnerships vital the products and services of the company
• Hiring, and training will be a strong component of this role, Ultimately the incumbent must be confident in their ability to enhance the coordination and productiveness of our business, while maintaining our company philosophy of people-first by coaching and mentoring staff
• Actively develop the operations team to improve efficiencies in procurement, manufacturing, order tracking & fulfillment, shipping and receiving and inventory management
• Be accountable for the efficient operation of the Company, ensuring well-coordinated management to meet a dynamic sales forecast
• Participate with senior management in establishing long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives related to supply chain management
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, specified contract metrics, and maintain high standards of operational activities, introducing efficiencies where applicable'
• Plan, direct and implement logistics operations and administrative support to meet prescribed productivity and service goals, particularly with co-pack operations
• Develop an annual operating budget and manage a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters
• Working with senior leadership to set and track company goals maximizing company-wide achievement
• Developing new products to customer needs working with all areas of the company including research and development
• Participating in corporate expansion fundraising by describing systems, action plans and philosophy that support established goals
• You use KPIs and Metrics to engage, motivate, manage, and report in on status and progress
