Who is PETA’s Video Lab

Our Video Lab team is comprised of individuals who create attention-grabbing and conversation-starting videos for PETA’s social platforms. From provocative and hilarious videos that trend on Twitter to shocking undercover footage that prompts people to grab their tissues, PETA is known around the world for our unforgettable videos. We believe nothing is as effective as changing hearts and minds than watching videos of the treatment of animals - and it’s the job of the Video Lab to find creative ways to get people to do this. Videos created by PETA’s Video Lab receive roughly a hundred million views each year, so the opportunity for you to make a huge impact for animals is sky-high.

 

Position Objective: 

To oversee the creation of online videos for PETA’s social channels

 

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Oversee staff members in the Video Lab team of PETA's Marketing Department

• Collaborate with the Social Media team and department stakeholders to conceptualize new content 

that showcases PETA's unique work

• Give feedback and shape projects from concept to completion

• Oversee budgets, schedules and shoots and direct shoots and voice-over sessions as necessary

• Mentor Video Lab staff members in developing a voice that is consistent with PETA's standards and online success

• Set production and viewership goals for the Video Lab, analyze results, and strategize accordingly

• Manage and cultivate the PETA YouTube channel

• Work with outside production entities to develop and produce content as needed

• Work closely with the PETA Foundation's Audio/Visual Department to archive content and ensure legal adherence

• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Degree in a related field or equivalent experience 

• Five years of social media video creation experience - including development, production, and post

• Minimum of two years of supervisory experience 

• Strong working knowledge of youth culture and social media trends

• Strong working knowledge of all stages of video production

• Knowledge of the Adobe Suite, and Asana or a similar project management system

• Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns

• Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously

• Proven excellent written communication skills 

• Proven exceptional analytical and organizational skills

• Proven excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills

• Proven strong leadership skills, strategic-thinking skills, and long-term vision 

• Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle

• This position requires proof of the COVID-19 full vaccination and booster
