Position Objective:
To provide a wide range of high-level support to the president and the Office of the President
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assign tasks to other departments and supervise their progress, alert president to any problems
- Conduct research on a wide range of topics
- Independently organize and sometimes attend speaking engagements, interviews, and book signings for the president
- Oversee departmental financial records and the timely approval or denial of financial matters
- Draft responses to inquiries about a wide range of animal rights topics and inquiries
- Make domestic and international travel arrangements and keep a tight and accurate itinerary
- Assist with development, research, marketing, and press coverage for the president's books and appearances
- Arrange events such as PETA and PETA Foundation senior staff retreats, meetings, and in-house VIP gatherings
- Maintain departmental databases, the president’s information repositories.
- Interact professionally and diplomatically with PETA donors, celebrities, and others who contact the Office of the President
- Assist the president with business matters while she is traveling or otherwise unavailable
- Assist various departments, particularly PETA’s community animal project on occasion and in emergencies
- Professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the president
Qualifications:
- Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of one year of supervisory or leadership experience
- Exceptional written and verbal professional communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
- Demonstrated superior organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Proven project management skills
- Proven effective research skills
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and decision making
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate problems, identify opportunities, and take an active approach to responsibilities
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- This position requires proof of the COVID-19 full vaccination
- Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
