Scale x 3 Management owns and operates restaurants in the quick service, family dining, and fast casual categories.  Comprised of three industry veterans, Scale by Three Management plans to open these brands in CA, NV, AZ, and TX.  The franchised brands include Broken Yolk and Plant Power Restaurant Group and our homegrown brand Taco Reforma. 

We are seeking a General Manager for our new independently owned and operated Plant Power Fast Food, a plant-based fast food restaurant opening in San Clemente.  It is an exciting opportunity to oversee the startup of a new franchise location, build it into a successful location and develop the skills for career growth within our company. 

We provide extensive training for the role and this requires three (3) months of off-site weekday training in San Diego. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the opening of the restaurant and coordinate with contractors and vendors 
  • Recruit, hire, train and develop high quality team members
  • Provide overall management and guidance to all managers in the restaurant
  • Manage general restaurant day to day operations
  • Maintain a work environment dedicated to promoting food safety
  • Responsible for all food and beverage quality, service and cleanliness standards within the restaurant
  • Ensure that operational and training standards are consistently maintained
  • Respond to guest concerns, both written and verbal, with the ability to creatively solve problems
  • Ensure company values are being upheld by maintaining a thriving and positive company culture
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend promotions or corrective actions when necessary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of restaurant experience, preferably in fast food/fast casual environment including 3 years of management experience 
  • Experience in opening a new restaurant is preferred
  • Possess CA ServSafe Handler Card
  • Availability to be in San Diego 5 days a week for 3 months for training
  • Embrace a Vegan lifestyle
  • Strong work ethic and high personal standards for quality of work
  • Working knowledge of financials and budgets, operations and marketing 
  • Experience in hiring and developing talent  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Organized, team player who is considerate and able to work well with others
  • Possess ability to mentor, coach and develop staff and to resolve conflict
  • Self-disciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks with a sense of urgency in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word) 
  • Willingness to learn and accommodate company directives
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility to be available for emergencies
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
