Job Description

Position Objective:

Maximize the reach of PETA’s work with athletes by using innovative strategies with a goal of reaching worldwide fans

 

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Seek out and develop professional relationships with athletes, agents, teams, and publicists on an ongoing basis in order to set up cross-promotional partnerships for PETA
  • Lead athlete campaigns from ideation through execution and to launch
  • Coordinate campaign design and messaging with the appropriate departments
  • Work across all PETA departments and with its affiliates – particularly with media and social media teams – to maximize exposure and success
  • Stay up-to-date with all sports-related news, events, important dates and strategize fresh, interesting content opportunities
  • Liaise with PETA’s Affiliates and assist in coordinating sports outreach, campaigns, and efforts in other countries
  • Travel to attend events, photo shoots, and other networking opportunities as a representative of PETA
  • Maintain thorough records in the celebrity database of key interactions between PETA and celebrities
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

 

Requirements

  • College degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience in sports marketing, management, or related field
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in celebrity and sports culture
  • Working knowledge of major sports stars both in the US and internationally
  • Proven interest in and strong working knowledge of social media (should have tons of experience scrolling and posting on, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook)
  • Demonstrated ability to think and strategize creatively
  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues and PETA campaigns
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • We’re looking for a self-starter with a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Support for PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
  • Naturally, you'd need to be committed to the objectives of the organization, and living a vegan lifestyle would be a part of this
  • Willingness and ability to travel to attend events, photo shoots, and other opportunities
  • This position requires proof of the COVID-19 full vaccination
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record
