Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Albuquerque office (remote during COVID-19 pandemic)


Reporting: Operations Manager reports to Deputy Director; no positions report to Operations Manager


Summary of Position:

Position Responsibility: To bring about systemic change for animals in New Mexico by supporting and assisting the Deputy Director and other executive staff, as assigned, with carrying out duties related to Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), Business Administration, and other duties as assigned.


Position Objectives:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support of the organization’s Information Technology (IT) requirements;
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support of the organization’s Human Resources (HR) requirements;
  • Provide administrative support of the organization’s Business Administration requirements;
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by executive staff;
  • Other duties as assigned by managers.


Skills and Competency Areas:

  • Highly proficient in various office technologies, highly computer literate, experienced in using a variety of computer software (including e-mail, Excel, Word, PPT, performing online research), adept at learning new software platforms, and able to effectively trouble-shoot and assist other staff with routine technical issues.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate (both verbal and written) and work with a diverse constituency (diverse in ethnicity, gender, age, opinions, etc.)
  • High level of discretion
  • Excellent “people skills” including sensitivity to others, conversational ease, flexibility
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines

Travel Requirements:

Minimal, intermittent travel may occasionally be required. Valid NM driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance required.


Minimum Physical Requirements:

May occasionally require lifting and carrying materials. Wheeled carts and other equipment are available.


Education/Experience Requirements:

Preferred candidates have experience in a nonprofit Operations Manager role.
