CORPORATE RELATIONS SPECIALIST Remote in the U.S.   As  corporate relations specialist , you will   engage with major food retailers and producers, fast-food chains, grocery stores, foodservice companies, restaurants, consumer packaged goods companies, and other food industry entities to eliminate the cruelest practices inflicted on farmed animals. You will   do invaluable work : Help develop and execute effective strategies for working with the food industry to secure and implement commitments to eliminating the cruelest supply chain practices Identify, research, and propose prospective outreach targets Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and consistent outreach materials that comply with internal legal, editorial, and messaging standards Work with other nonprofit organizations to foster solid relationships and coordination between Mercy For Animals and other corporate engagement professionals Cultivate positive working relationships with food producers, industry associations, and key executives at food companies and attend in-person meetings as needed Track communications with companies and share updates with supervisor Serve as a Mercy For Animals spokesperson at events, including industry gatherings and press conferences, as needed Collaborate with other departments at Mercy For Animals to advance the organization’s strategic objectives Your   qualifications   will take the organization to the next level: Bachelor’s degree in corporate affairs, campaigning, issue advocacy, or a closely related area or equivalent work experience preferred Minimum of one year’s professional experience in corporate relations, campaigning, issue advocacy, sales, or a closely related area Self-motivation, resourcefulness, and exceptional research skills  Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally and persuasively Understanding of the food industry and key farmed animal welfare issues Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills Excellent writing skills Willingness and ability to travel as needed Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle Is this the right fit? I’m vegan and fiercely passionate about animal welfare and animal rights.  Compensation and Benefits Earn an annual salary of   $40,000–$46,000, depending on qualifications. Our paid time-off policy, including 20 vacation days a year, staff-appreciation days, holidays, and sick leave, is as generous as our no- or low-cost health insurance.
