Position Summary MeeT is looking for a Controller who will help us change the world, one yummy meal at a time! We are an award-winning and growing restaurant, making from scratch, plant-based comfort food that brings people together. We seek to lead the industry in providing great food for all people while helping our employees grow and develop in their careers. The Controller is a new role at MeeT and will be key to improving and managing MeeT’s financial health and performance so that the business can grow and better serve its guests, employees and the world! The position’s key functions include strategic planning, financial reporting, forecasting, internal control, payroll, accounting, risk management, and tax preparation. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, a numbers all-star, and great at working with others.This is a full-time position, reporting to the ownership team at a fun, mission-driven company with a strong family vibe. Core Responsibilities Establishes and manages financial controls and procedures Monitors each store’s financial performance and makes recommendations for improvements and cost control Prepares and presents financial reports and risk analysis Helps guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures Ensures effective accounts receivables and payables Prepares monthly and annual operating budgets and forecasts About You Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline Minimum 4 years accounting experience in senior accounting and/or financial management Accounting designation is an asset Restaurant or hospitality industry experience is a major asset In-depth knowledge of finance including financial reporting, statements, internal audit, data analysis and payroll systems Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and receivable functions and GAAP Knowledge of provincial and federal regulation on taxes, reporting, regulations, laws Strong interpersonal and communication skills Detail-oriented and numbers focused Comfortable handling competing and changing priorities Ability to work effectively with company leaders and store management teams Self-motivated and self-directed Understanding the plant-based lifestyle is an asset Benefits Competitive salary, where hard work is rewarded Extended medical and dental health benefits Reimbursement for wellness /active lifestyle activities Free meals on shift Staff discounts at our sister grocery store business MeeT Bucks - a gift card loaded monthly for you to use at any of our restaurants Technology allowance A TeeM environment that makes work satisfying and fun - not just lip service!
